Crackdown 2 - How to use the Wingsuit

The Wingsuit ability in Crackdown 2 and Crackdown 3 is one of the unlockable abilities in the series. In the second game, it is unlocked at Agility Skill Level 5. By the third game, it is unlocked during the first Wingsuit Race that players partake in.

To use the wingsuit, players need to press the "Y" Button when at the height of their jump or when falling. To effectively glide, players have to nosedive off a tall building, wait for the blue streams to turn red or when the Agent begins to shake, before pulling back up. A successive repetition of this action allows Agents to effectively "fly" throughout the city, especially with assistance from thrusters. Players can also quickly tap "Y" to have a little boost during a jump near the ground, allowing them to dash forward and go further. It also permits them to be faster when jumping during a rooftop races or a Renegade Orb chase.

The technology used for the wingsuit was never stated in detail, although there are a few assumptions and theories from fans. The wingsuit as it appeared in the second game must have used some sort of flaps to use the air as a lift. It can also be assumed that the same tech for the mass driver was used. By the third game, the Agency's wingsuit now appeared as an actual jetpack with wings attached at the Agent's back. This made it more motorized and mechanical, allowing for true flight compared to the first wingsuit. Overall, in order for the wingsuit to do this, the Agent's armor have to be light enough for it to glide and fly.

Trivia[]

  • The wingsuit was originally not part of Crackdown 3 but a recent patch in June 2019 added it together with wingsuit races.
